why bravely loved?
When my daughter was born with a critical heart defect, so much was out of our control.
But the one thing we could control, was how we showed up. We didn't know how any day would go in the ICU, but we bravely showed up. Bravely loving her from the bedside, swallowing fears to be strong for her.
As she thrives in her day to day, we find ourselves coming back to that phrase. Bravely loving her despite what tomorrow brings. Despite future surgeries, prognosis, or quality of life.
As we plan to bring home baby #2, we have chosen to bravely love once more. Bravely choosing more babies among medical complexities. Choosing love without fear of what's to come.
That's where our heart comes from. Just a medical family, showing up, and choosing the joy.
